Dakar Foundation Apprenticeship Cohort Announcement
The next cohort of Dakar Foundation Apprentices are focusing on harnessing the power of storytelling, digital twinning, and generative AI to support recovery and resilience efforts for Los Angeles County wildfire victims. Dakar is in conversation(s)with organizations such as the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), California Jobs First, and the LA County Economic Development Board
Apprentices will apply innovative tools to:
- Tell stories that amplify the voices of those most impacted and distribute through our Faststreaming channel, DakarLive, and our partners the California Community Colleges, and CSUEA, and LACHSA.
- Leverage digital twinning to create models that improve coordination and access to resources.
- Aggregate and deploy generative AI solutions to bridge gaps in information, communication, and service delivery.
This initiative emphasizes outreach and engagement with the most vulnerable populations, ensuring that those at risk of long-term exclusion can more easily find and navigate critical resources across multiple channels, such as our LA County focused social media enhanced fast stream channel, DakarLive.
By blending creativity, technology, and community service, the cohort will work to address unmet needs and build equitable pathways to recovery for wildfire-affected communities.
Digital twinning of humans for health and wellness is an emerging concept in biomedicine, healthcare, and life sciences that uses computational models, AI, and real-time data to create a virtual replica of a person’s body, organs, or health state. This digital twin can be used to monitor, predict, and optimize health outcomes.
What is a Human Digital Twin in Health?
- A dynamic, virtual model of an individual that mirrors their physiology, anatomy, and health, and employment history.
- Continuously updated with real-world data from wearables, medical imaging, genomics, electronic health records, lifestyle data and collection through trusted systems such as DakarLive.
- Enables simulation, prediction, and personalization of treatments, interventions, preventive care, and prediction in sociol-economic outcomes.
6 MONTHS AGO LAUNCH OF DIGITAL TWIN INITIATIVES.
Join forces with Dakar Foundation and The Buffalo Soldiers Educational Foundation to preserve and conserve the unpublished timeline and history of Los Angeles County for future generations. The recent wildfires have highlighted the need to urgently Digital Twin the remnants of Altadena and the Pacific Palisades, ensuring the preservation of our civilization and heritage. Let’s work together to safeguard our past for the generations to come. #Preservation #Conservation #LosAngelesHistory 🌍🔥
THE LONG TERM FUTURE: Real estate developers, bankers, investors, and community/social impact leaders outline the strategic challenges of rebuilding and returning residents to their communities. This includes addressing the limits of existing interventions (insurance, state & federal assistance, etc.), and the longer term logistics of rebuilding – as well as the financing of new construction for families who may have owned these properties for generations.
360 Degrees: Discuss what resources and institutions we need to build within the community to address any critical gaps and create financial upside moving forward. The goal here is to make sure the existing residents see the benefit of reconstruction – either because they get to return to their communities or because they will have an ownership stake in future property sales. We can’t let this natural disaster become a vehicle for disenfranchising entire neighborhoods.
