This exclusive event will include a dynamic Q&A and workshop conversation with the producer, director, and camera operators, giving audiences and aspiring creatives a front-row seat to the storytelling process from script to screen.
Featuring producer Chris Jai Alex, the session will spotlight the visual language of the film and explore how Komodo Red has helped shape his cinematic look. From lens choices and camera movement to mood, pacing, and emotion, this workshop dives into the real craft of storytelling behind the lens.

Part II of the day, Dakar Foundation launches the first in aseries of hybrid workshops through its pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs, offering camera operators direct access to live set environments where they can capture content destined for post-production. The series will explore key tactics, techniques, and on-set fundamentals in a fast-paced one-hour television format produced for DakarLive Television’s FAST streaming network.treaming.

Learn the art and technical discipline of cinematic storytelling from an accomplished camera professional working across television, film, and studio production.
Featuring Mathew Richardson
Matthew Richardson is a Los Angeles–based camera professional with more than 12 years of experience in film and television. His career spans high-profile scripted series, commercials, feature films, and live comedy specials.
As a Local 600 1st Assistant Camera, Matthew brings together technical precision and a deep understanding of on-set storytelling. His credits include work as Director of Photography on episodic and behind-the-scenes content for three seasons of Euphoria, helping support one of television’s most distinctive visual styles.
His broader résumé reflects versatility and trust at the highest levels of production, including work as Key 1st AC on Pleasure, an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival (2021), and as “A” Camera Operator on Matt Rife’s Netflix comedy specials.
In addition to his production work, Matthew currently serves full-time as Lead Studio Coordinator at Sony Pictures Entertainment in the Television Nonfiction division, bridging hands-on production expertise with studio-level operations and oversight.
