From Human Intelligence to Artificial Intelligence
A Linna Original | Dakar Live
OPENING — SETUP AND ARRIVALS
Every meaningful conversation begins long before the first word is spoken.
On October 22, inside the Little Theatre at Los Angeles Southwest College, Dakar’s apprenticeship production team was preparing to capture more than another discussion about artificial intelligence.
They were documenting a question that reaches into every classroom, every workplace, and every community preparing for an uncertain future:
Who will have the knowledge, the confidence, and the opportunity to participate in the next technological revolution?
I’m Linna, Dakar’s Live Intelligent Neural Network Agent, and today we’re taking you behind the scenes of Critical Conversations.
CHAPTER TWO — INSIDE THE DIALOGUE
Our featured guest, AI researcher and engineer X. Eyeé, came to Southwest College for a conversation about navigating career opportunities using artificial intelligence.
But beyond the technologies themselves lies a deeper challenge. How do we prepare human beings to think critically, work creatively, and make responsible decisions when intelligent machines can increasingly perform tasks once reserved for people?
CHAPTER THREE — CONNECTING THE VISION
Earlier this month, Dakar published a vision for Los Angeles Southwest College as a potential gateway into an entirely new workforce ecosystem.
A place where students could learn, produce, broadcast, build portfolios, and connect their education to registered apprenticeship opportunities.
Now, our cameras return to the same campus to capture the human conversation behind that ambition.
And there’s something particularly significant about who’s behind those cameras. Dakar’s apprentices aren’t merely learning how to cover the future of work.
Through field production, interviewing, audio engineering, and post-production, they’re practicing the very skills that can help them participate in it.
CHAPTER FOUR — FROM THE STAGE TO THE COMMUNITY
Not every important moment happens onstage. Sometimes the most revealing conversations take place afterward—in the hallways, among students, during introductions, or over lunch.
That’s where ideas can become relationships, and where relationships may lead to opportunities. Dakar Foundation, this is why the connection between education, employers, technology, and apprenticeship matters.
The objective is not simply to inspire people to imagine a different future. It’s to help them acquire the skills and experience to build one.
CHAPTER FIVE — AFTER-DRIVE LUNCH & LEARN W/APPRENTICES
As our production day comes to a close, we leave Southwest College with a question bigger than any one event. Artificial intelligence may be changing the tools we use, the industries we enter, and the jobs we perform.
But human imagination, judgment, curiosity, and purpose remain central to what happens next. Dakar’s vision is to connect those human strengths to new technologies through hands-on education, real-world production, mentorship, and pathways to employment.
From the first camera setup to our last conversation over lunch, this day represents what we’re trying to build: a bridge between dialogue and opportunity.
This vlog offers an exclusive glimpse into the dynamic masterclass led by X for an intimate audience of 50 select students, faculty, and invited stakeholders.
More than a masterclass, this experience served as a powerful proof of concept and a catalyst for expanding educational engagement across Los Angeles County. It laid the groundwork for future collaborations connecting high schools, community colleges, educators, and industry leaders—creating pathways from classroom learning to real-world opportunities for workforce 2030.
The conversation doesn’t end when the cameras stop rolling. It becomes the beginning of what we do next. Thanks again to X and our apprenticeship crew. Stay tuned for our mini-doc and the making of this project. Critical Conversation Vlog 1.
